The joint meeting of traders of Mersin-Turkey and Iranian economic actors was held with the presences of head and deputy in international affairs of Iran chamber and the president of Mersin chamber of commerce on 30 January 2012. According to the report of ICCIM's public relations, considering the common of two countries in terms of population, economic income and strategic location; Mohammad Nahavandian, Iran chamber's head emphasized on necessary planning for future cooperation with Turkey.Also he said: "Tehran has the capacity and location that can be the hub of region." Seyed Mehdi Mir Abutalebi, ICCIM's deputy in international affairs also explained: "Now the volume of trade transactions is 15 billion dollars which will reach 30 billion dollars until 2015." Serafettin Asut, the president of Mersin chamber of commerce announced that early dialogue was done about the signing cooperation agreement between Hormozgan and Mersin and said: "Hormozgan and Mersin have many common points and this cooperation will cause to expand cooperation between Iran and Turkey." Stating that Iran is certainly one of important trade partner for Turkey, Asut said:" In recent years, the number of Iranian active companies in Turkey has increased significantly." The president of Mersin chamber of commerce said that one of Turkish government policies is to establish and to develop the rail infrastructure between Mersin and Iran and continued: "These issues will be considered in the trip of Iranian minister of roads and transportation to Turkey in 2 next weeks." It is said that, this delegation is the first official Turkish trade groups which travel to Iran after signing 23rd document of two countries' joint commission meeting.
